1) Street Music Through the Ages
A man walked by holding a thin laptop blasting music the way that I imagine people used to hold boom boxes in the 80s! It is amazing how times will change.
2) Ignore What They Say: Men Know Fashion!
An older couple (70s) stopped at the window outside of a boutique dress shop and looked in. The lady said, "I like those shoes." The man went on to notify all who were near that women's shoes with the rounded toe should have never been invented!
As a side note, 4 different women have commented on the shoes in this window. One more example of how women dress for women. I wonder if there would be any success in a store that only sells clothes for women that men would find attractive (assuming the clothes were still classy). I am thinking a store full of sun dresses and stilettos, but I am open to other ideas. Shiny shoes, tube tops and all but the most carefully designed flats are not welcome.
3) Too Much Information
A woman walking by mentioned, "I've had crabs" in the tone of an indignant rebuttal. 2 shop owners and I immediately looked at each other smiling ear to ear as she began to correct herself loud enough so that we would all hear.
Maryland is very well known for it's blue crabs, which, for the most part, have been shipped from Louisiana for the better part of the last decade. Thankfully, as the oil spill is making the LA crabs extremely expensive, the MD blue crabs are being moved off the almost-endangered species list so MD crab farming is picking back up. This progress is, at least in part, thanks to the protectionism movement for the Chesapeake Bay watershed.
